Guaranty Laundry Building by Celeste Vaught
The snow's now been on the ground for over 3 weeks and it's snowing and bitter cold now. Seemed like an appropriate setting for this interesting old building and neat sign. The building is on 11th Street in Tulsa, and did you know that the architect who designed it also designed one of the most famous deco buildings in the country that's right here in Tulsa? Check out the details on my blog if you like.
This is heavy-body acrylics on 10 x 8" gessoed mdf. I chose a limited palette and soft edges over all to portray the dreary atmosphere and keep the focus on that inviting yellow door and sign pointing the way to the entrance.
