This is a 9" x 12" oil on panel of a branch of the
Buffalo River in Northcentral Arkansas, the land
of my youth. I've been working on a series of landscapes
of that area with an occasional still life from
classes in my studio.
The bluff shown in the painting is actually quite tall
and even the photos don't do it justice. I think it hovers
over a hundred fifty feet in the area shown here..
Betty Dalsing has influenced me to start using a palette
knife occasionally and it made it much more fun.
